African Health Sciences Bulletin endeavors to ensure a straightforward process to submit your manuscript for publication. African Health Sciences Bulletin publishes Articles, Reviews, and Letters. All articles submitted to African Health Sciences Bulletin should be prepared according to the instructions below.
Aims and Scope
African Health Sciences Bulletin is an international journal dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of scientific knowledge concerning health sciences and related academic disciplines. African Health Sciences Bulletin is published and distributed by Eswatini Medical Christian University.
Editorial Policy
A submitted article is understood to be based on original results and not previously published. Authorship should be credited based on contributions to conceptualization, design, acquisition, analysis, interpretation of data, and drafting of the article. The corresponding author is responsible for all communication between this journal and all co-authors. The author holds the copyright of the published article and agrees to transfer the license to African Health Sciences Bulletin.
Conflict of Interest
African Health Sciences Bulletin requires that all authors disclose financial as well as non- financial conflicts of interest. If there is no conflict of interest, authors must state “All authors have no conflicts of interest.” under the Acknowledgments section.
Permissions
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted figures, text, data, or tables in submitted papers. Authors must note that text citations and permission statements related to publication or work should be submitted with the manuscript.
Ethics
All research involving human subjects must be performed in accordance with the ethical standards given in the Declaration of Helsinki, and the research protocol must be approved by the author’s institutional review board (IRB) prior to experiments. Experiments involving animals must also be approved by the author’s institutional animal care and use committee (IACUC). Details of the ethical approval status of the research must be described in the Materials and Methods section of the manuscript, including the IRB and/or IACUC approval number(s). Authors must submit a document indicating the approval of the research.
Review and Revision
All submitted articles will be read critically by the editors, the editorial board members, and two reviewers.
The suggestions made by the reviewers and editors will be passed on to the authors. They can have an opportunity to revise the submitted article. After revision, the editor’s decision to accept, reject, or request more revision will be notified the corresponding author.
Proofs
Galley proofs (PDF format) for an accepted article will be sent by email to the corresponding author. The core content of an article cannot be changed during the galley proof reading. The galley proofs corrected should be mailed to the Editorial Office within 48 hours.
Manuscript Formats
The text of the manuscript is prepared in Microsoft Word. The margins are moderate on all sides. The font size is 10 points. The font style “Times New Roman” is favored. The entire manuscript should be single spaced. All pages are numbered in sequence, and the manuscript should have line numbers. Figures and tables should be embedded in the text, and they should include legends and titles, respectively. The title page should include the title of the article, author name(s), author affiliation(s), address(es) of the institution(s), abstract, and keywords. An asterisk (*) after the name of the corresponding author(s) should be placed. The affiliation address for each author should be indicated by superscript Arabic numbers (1, 2, 3). Articles should be structured according to the section headings Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion which may be combined with the Results section, Acknowledgments, Conflicts of Interest, and References. References follow The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) / National Library of Medicine (NLM) style. They are numbered [1], [2], et cetera in the order in which they are cited in the text. Letters can be structured without the section headings including Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. In reviews, the section headings except Acknowledgments, Conflicts of Interest, and References can be freely adjusted according to the author's intention
